6-Week Introduction to Mindfulness Course
Join my weekly 60-minute course where each session explores a unique theme. Together, we’ll delve into the foundations of mindfulness, creating a meaningful and enriching experience every week.
Through a combination of talks, guided exercises, and group reflections, participants, like you, gain insights into the science and art of mindfulness, developing skills to integrate these teachings into your daily lives for lasting positive change.

What are the themes covered in this 6-week course:
- Week 1: What is Mindfulness?
- Week 2: Coming Back Home – Mindfulness of Body (breath, body sensations, sound, mindful movements)
- Week 3: Being Fully Human – Working with Emotions
- Week 4: Navigating the Mind – Working with Thoughts and Beliefs
- Week 5: The Wise Heart – Cultivating the Positives to Counterbalance the Negativity Bias
- Week 6: Mindful Relating & Bringing the Practice to Your Daily Life
How is each session structured:
- 10 minutes of check-in and reflections
- 15 minutes of teaching on each week’s mindfulness theme
- 10 minutes of practicing mindfulness meditation
- 10 minutes of Q&A and group processing
- 5 minutes of discussing possible adaptations of this week’s mindfulness practice
- 5 minutes of instructions on practices in between the courses

Who is the course for:
Whether you’re entirely new to mindfulness or looking to deepen your practice in a group setting, this course is a welcoming place.
The good news: participation in this mindfulness course doesn’t require you to sit still all the time. I’ll provide various meditation anchors and postures, allowing you to discover what works best for you.

The first two cohorts will be donation-based.
Who is teaching the course:
Ying Deng is a certified mindfulness teacher in training with the renowned meditation teachers Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach’s Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program. Ying also provides ADHD Coaching in English and Mandarin 普通话, as a certified transformation life coach, and has training in Positive Psychology. Before Ying even realized she had ADHD, she managed to somehow trick her brain into meditating every single day for 500+ days. Throughout that process, Ying discovered many useful techniques that could make meditation more accessible, enjoyable, and fun for more people out there, including those with ADHD.
